Susice grabs 8th runner up spot of the season at Humberstone Speedway's "All Canadian Championships"

Panunte grabs All Canadian win along with Dave Scott, Jason Fontaine, Rob Goulding, Rick Book and Dave Larocque

The Molson Civic Holiday All Canadian Championships Presented by Peters Excavating was a resounding success Sunday night as a full 6 division slate was presented with extra distance features and time trials completed the all day program. Time trials set up the heats and the heats lined up the drivers for their features.




In the Cosco Haulage Sportsman Rick Bellante set fast time of 16:946 followed by Ryan Susice of 17:041 to put themselves on the pole for their heats. Ryan Susice grabbed the lead from the start. Lap 33 Greg Panunte would slingshot past Susice but Susice would fight back but fall just short with Luke Carleton, Cody McPherson and Nick Cupolo rounding out the top 5.




The Ontario Dirt Late Models drew for their heats to set up their features. Chad Valone opened up a lead from the start of their 30 lap feature. But several yellows would slow the field meanwhile Valone's teammate ?The Slow Ride? David Scott would put on huge pressure to the halfway mark. Lap 24 Valone was caught up in traffic giving the lead to David Scott which put Greg Oakes 2nd followed by tonights sponsor Darren Peters with 6 to go. Scott would hold on to pick the win his his first ever appearance at Humberstone Speedway. Greg Oakes, Darren Peters, Vallone and Dale Glassford.




In the Brian's Tire Repair Street Stocks, the fast time of Pat Thompson with 19:74 led the way followed by Bill Bleich Jr with 19:81 set themselves for the heat pole positions. The 25 lap feature would have Jason Fontaine lead the field to the green and would battle from the start with Al Sleight for several laps. Fontaine would open up a good lead with a few to go after several yellows but would claim his 2nd win of the season. Fontaine was followed by Sleight, Lee Winger, Kevin Knapp and Kevin Aube.




In the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Trucks the fast time was Bob McNamara with 21:33 followed by Kameron Kocarik with 21:61. The 20 feature Bob McNamara and Rick Book set the pace from the start with Book on the attack and an attack it was he would run clean from green to checker to win his 2nd of the season. Book was followed by Billy Beales, Kameron Kocarik, Andy Imbeault, and Hilary Haegens.




In the Ron's Automotive Mini Stock, Dave Bailey set fast time with 20:88 followed by Rob Goulding and Terry Larmet with 21:03. Garnet Wilson and Rob Goulding led the field to the green with Goulding taking the lead from the start. Dave Bailey made a great charge but would need a caution that finally made an appearance as Chris Laskey spun off turn 2 with 3 to go. Bailey would try the inside but Goulding's momentum would carry him to his 2nd win followed by Bailey, Rocco Conte, Aaron Wiley and Rob Overholt to round out the top 5.




The entry level Frontier Auto Dismantler Pure Stocks, fast time was set by Sam Iftody with a time of 21:63 followed by Terry Ronning 21:84. With a distance of 20 laps, Dave Larocque took the lead on lap 3 from early leader Doug Crawford. Points leader Mike Greene brought the field to a halt with a roll in turn 3. Larocque would continue to lead though pressured by Terry Ronning for several laps and would claim the win. He was followed by Ronning, Jon Vineski, Crawford and Jackie Giancola.







POST RACE AFTERTHOUGHTS: A excellent turnout of racers as the pits were swelled with 129 cars and Trucks. After last weeks long jump contest, Chris Webb was released from the Hospital the next day with cracked ribs and very sore but returned to the Speedway to reclaim his bent car and after conversing with track General Manager he plans to return for the September Eve Of Destruction. The Staff and Management of Humberstone wish Chris a quick recovery... Up next at Humberstone on August 8th will be Xtreme Custom Exhaust and Performance night which will be a full program headed up by the Young Automotive professional 358 Modifieds, along with the Sportsman Pro 4 Trucks, Mini Stocks, and a Ransomville Speedway King Of The Hill Qualifier for the Street Stocks. The Pits will open at 4:30, Grandstands at 5PM and racing at 6:30 Sharp!!!
