JOHNSON, SPATORICO, LOVELAND, AND WAGNER TAKE WINS AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY
Ransomville, NY – Friday, May 21, 2010 – A total of 116 cars entered competition last Friday night at the big R – Ransomville Speedway. Despite mother natures’s best efforts – the management stayed strong and was able to complete the four division show which featured twin 50’s for the Sportsman and Streetstock divisions. Late afternoon showers did not deter race fans as a great crowd was on hand to witness plenty of side by side racing action through-out the night.
Danny Johnson of Rochester, NY took top honors for the second week in a row aboard the thirty lap Mighty Taco Modified feature main. Johnson took the lead away from Todd Gordon late in the event aboard his Waste Management sponsored #27j and quickly pulled away from the field. Johnson took the win followed by Gordon who held on for second. Pete Bicknell finished in the third position followed by Todd Burley and Boyd MacTavish.
Don Spatorico of Ransomville, NY captured his first checkered of the season aboard the Investors Services sponsored fifty lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main event. Spatorico enjoyed a front row starting position by virtue of he redraw done pitside. Spatorico quickly claimed control of the main event enroute to the $1000 win. Sandy Pembleton came home in second followed by Ryan Susice, Justin Wright, and Brandon Easey.
Mark Loveland of Niagara Falls, NY took top honors aboard the Investors Service sponsored fifty lap Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main event. Loveland took the lead away from Pat Dell on lap twenty-two and quickly distanced himself from the remainder of the field. Loveland took the win followed by Mike Greenawalt, Don Rappleyea, Andy Smith, and Brandon Sherwood. Dell led the first twenty-two circuits prior to a flat tire sent him pitside. A total of thirty Streetstocks took the green flag while thirty-eight attempted to qualify.
Derek Wagner took the win aboard the twelve lap Gippsters Collision 4 Banger feature main. Wagner took the lead away from Dan Walchuck just past the half way point and was never seriously challenged after that point. Steve Matson and Walchuck rounded out the top three.

Pitnotes – congratulations to Anthony Rizzardo for taking his first heat checkered in Modified competition. Rizzardo has officially been a Modified pilot for just three weeks. Gary Tomkins made a rare appearance at the big R aboard the Kendrick’s owned 6* machine. A fifty lap main event for the Mighty Taco Modified will highlight this coming Friday, May 28th.
