RYAN SUSICE BACK TO DEFEND RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY 2009 SPORTSMAN TITLE

Hometown driver Ryan Susice isn't legally old enough to go out to the local tavern and enjoy a cold alcoholic beverage, but the defending 2009 Sportsman titlist at Ransomville Speedway has already won a pair of championships at the Niagara County oval and will be looking for a third when the season begins on Friday, April 30.

"Winning a championship in the Sportsman class was a dream come true," said Susice in a telelphone interview."To win the title against such a tough field of competitors makes it even better."

Susice stepped into the stock car scene in 2007 after a successful run in Ransomville Speedway's Thursday night go-kart program. He didn't have to wait long to get his first championship as he did the trick in the Ransomville Speedway Street Stock class as a rookie. Susice won the title on the final night of the season.

Susice was also the 2009 DIRTcar Sportsman champion at Saturday night based Canandaigua Speedway.

Ryan was also second in Mr DIRTcar Sportsman Championship points.

Looking toward the 2010 season, Ryan will do things a little bit different. His schedule will change some but Ryan will continue to be busy.

"The plan is to run Ransomville and Merrittville on a weekly basis and start off the season at Humberstone. We'll also start off the season on the Mr DIRTCar tour. We're currently looking for sponsors to help us start off the tour."
Ryan is trying to keep the pressure of running for points to a minimum.

"I'm trying not to run for points this year. I know that we can keep out car in a top five position, the points will come."

Susice put a lot of pressure on himself to watch the points. He still wants to win but will try a different approach.

Ryan has already had a lot more success than many will have in an entire career.
He's a talented racer who still has a lot of success left him.

Beginning in late April, he'll look to step into another zone as he attempts an opportunity for another Ransomville Speedway title.
